The rope centre at Bystřice consists of a few specific parts:
The low rope part is comprised of obstacles whose purpose is to train clients to handle the high rope course later on. The high rope obstacles consist of two characteristic sectors - one for teams and one for individuals. The team sector is ideal for pair activities. They develop communication, co-operation, adroitness and confidence. The other sector is for individuals, however, it is possible to climb these obstacles in pairs, too (that is why there are always two belay ropes above each of the obstacles). The Siesta Rope Park´s two biggest attractions - "The Big Swing" and "The Tarzan´s Leap" - stand quite apart. They are placed usually towards the end of the programmes as their grandiose finals.
It is a system of fixed obstacles made from ropes, nets, wooden stakes etc. Together they form an interesting complex of interconnected "walkways" at the height of approx. 20 inches (50 cm) above the ground. On these low rope obstacles we recommend doing group oriented activities that can be performed either on the ground or a little bit above the ground. These activities do not require any special security system, it is quite sufficient when members of a group or team give one another support. From a lot of perspectives activities on the low rope obstacles bring the biggest variety of experiences, they are sort of an entrance gate to the great power of adventure. Experience that one gets when doing the low rope activities is easily transferred to real life situations: full dedication and summoning up all your strength, relying on your friends and colleagues, a creative way of thinking and solving problems - it is these things that you learn and develop here very quickly. Low ropes help develop your adroitness, skilfulness and strength. They are an imperative training tool for the high rope course. And last but not least, they are big fun, too!.
Again it is a system of interconnected obstacles made from ropes, nets, wooden stakes, poles, beams placed on the top of wooden pillars at the height of approximately 8 - 10 metres above the ground. They can be good fro team activities but also they are definitely a huge challenge for individuals or small groups. Our instructors who have gone through a special mountaineering training provide security all along the way. The activities always take place in groups, one instructor per five to ten clients. The operation is only ensured by this team of specially trained staff. High rope walking helps develop your courage and self-confidence. Some of the obstacles can be only overcome in pairs, which of course contributes to better co-operation, tolerance and trust. High rope activities belong to those adventure programmes that we tend to remember best and longest. Doing those, you can experience anxiety, and yet victorious euphoria at the same time. These extraordinary feelings are unforgettable. No matter whether it is the horizontal beam crossing or the Tarzan´s Leap, we certainly overstep all conceivable limits that we might have set for ourselves before. Those who have experienced the high rope often leave our centre highly satisfied with themselves, understanding their own abilities better than ever before, feeling much more bent on facing new challenges in their lives (despite the fact they will not be part of such a pre-programmed adventure).
These days, high-rope activities are quite common at various foreign universities where they are used as a most effective tool how to teach personality development with young students.
Lanové centrum Proud o.s. (The Proud Rope Centre) in co-operation with the Recreology Department of the Faculty of Physical Culture at Palacky University in Olomouc guarantee the training and schooling of all our instructors. They organize professional schooling courses, and grant licences to rope instructors.
